Waterfalls: Tasmania is known for its water falls

Almost anywhere in the State, you can discover a waterfall rushing over towering cliffs, bursting through jungle, or even tipping into the ocean. Here are a few local favourites. Stargazing: Look up. In a world where more than 80% of people live with light pollution, the night skies in Tasmania are dark and dazzling.

Wineglass Bay: It takes a little effort to see this photogenic landmark, turning a trip to this famous beach into a pilgrimage of sorts. Has lovely white-sand beaches and abundant wildlife. 

Cradle Mountain: Tasmania's most famous natural monument, Cradle Mountain, Australia's deepest lake, and seven of the state's ten highest mountains, is one of Australia's greatest natural assets.

Cruise the Gordon River: A cruise on the Gordon River typically offers incredible reflections of the surrounding forest and Huon pines. Boat cruises from Strahan cross Macquarie Harbour, a body of water six times larger than Sydney Harbour.

Bridestowe: Lavender Estate is one of Tasmania's premier tourist destinations, located a 50-minute drive from Launceston in Tasmania's scenic North East. Bridestowe Lavender Estate is the largest lavender farm in the Southern Hemisphere, famous for the spectacular view of the lavender in bloom in December and January. Only 50mins away from Symmons Plains Track

 

Symmons Plains Raceway: Symmons Plains is Tasmania's premier racing facility and one of Australia's oldest circuits, having been in continuous operation since 1960. It has been a long-standing fixture on the local touring car scene and its annual round of the Australian Supercars is the largest sporting event in Tasmania.
